Yggdrasil released RagnaWolves WildEnergy in May 2023 as the second entry in the WildEnergy series, the Fenrir-flavoured one that came before RagnaRavens. The cabinet is bronze plates riveted into a wall, red-orange storm clouds boiling across the backdrop, and a pale moon bleeding through haze on the left edge. The headline wolf snarls in violet and magenta. It's all Norse mythology done loud, and honestly the colour palette pushes a bit further than the usual Viking-slot brown.

The grid is 5×3 with 243 ways, RTP sits at 96.1%, volatility runs high, and bets stretch from $0.10 to $100 per spin. Top win caps at 10,000x. But here's the thing: that ceiling isn't printed as a rule anywhere inside the maths. It just closes the engine off mathematically.

And the engine itself is one rule, repeated. The Multiplier Ladder climbs the lazy caterer's sequence: 2, 4, 7, 11, 16, 22, 29, 37, 46, and onward, the same numbers you'd get counting how many pieces a circular cake splits into with each fresh straight cut. No printed cap on the ladder. The whole game rests on that one progression. The Multiplier Wolf only ever lands on the centre reel, and when it joins a paying combo it sticks, a respin fires, and each chained win nudges the multiplier up to the next ladder rung. A non-winning respin clears the wolf and resets you back to start. Brutal but clean.

Reels 2 and 4 get the Countdown Wolves, printing 2, 3 or 4 above their heads. Sticky for that many respins from the moment they land in a winning combo, running independently of the centre wolf. Free Spins trigger from 3 scatters on reels 2-3-4, awarding a flat 10 spins with extra wilds seeded into the reels. No retrigger though, which feels stingy given how short the round already is.

The Buy Menu splits in two for a real reason. The 100x bet ticket gets you 10 spins where the multiplier still resets between losing drops, same shape as a triggered round. The 500x bet option, by contrast, gives 13 spins where the multiplier persists for the entire round. Completely different mathematical shape. The Golden Bet ante adds 10x to your stake and guarantees a random wild on every base-game spin.

It's a focused build. One ladder, two wolf types, one progression rule doing all the work. The lack of a retrigger stings a little, and the base game can feel quiet between wolf landings. But when the ladder starts climbing past 22x or 29x with a sticky centre wolf and a Countdown Wolf still printing on reel 4? That's where Fenrir earns the snarl.
