Nolimit City carved Tombstone R.I.P out of the same slasher mould that delivered Mental and San Quentin xWays, only this time the backdrop is 1881 Arizona instead of an asylum or prison. The reels live inside blood-flecked wooden planks scrawled with R.I.P, sepia dust rolling down a saloon street behind them, and a small handle below the playfield reading BRUTALITY – THEN YOU DIE that you can flip on or off. It is one of the few NLC openings I have seen that asks a quiz before letting you in. Pick wrong on questions like How do you take your tobacco? and the game cycles you back to the start.

The 2-3-3-3-1 layout is the first oddity. Reel 5 shows a single position, but every symbol on it counts double, which is how 108 ways gets stitched out of an asymmetric shape. Low card ranks never appear on reel 5 at all. Only the five cowboy portrait cards and the specials land there, with Edda Star at $5,000 and El Gordo at $10,000 stamped onto monochrome wanted posters. The grid sits over a counter that probably matters more than any other element of the design.

xRIP is the badge in the corner reading NO WIN BELOW BET, and it does exactly what it says. Any spin paying less than your stake gets zeroed before it hits the balance, base game or bonus. The studio sells this as a variance compressor, and it is, though the side effect of session play is a much longer string of nothing wins than the 108-ways number would suggest. The Wild family is genuinely four-headed. Regular Wilds on reels 2-5. Reel Split Wilds on the middle three that halve every symbol they share a reel with and carry a x2. xSplit Wilds on the last reel that cut the grid leftward along one of four random paths. xNudge Wilds that climb into view and add +1 per nudge step. All compound when more than one joins a payline.

Three Hang 'em High Scatters trigger 8 freespins with a sticky multiplier that climbs every time a Wild lands and never falls back. Two Scatters quietly convert into Reel Split Wilds, a small consolation. Land a Boothill Scatter on reel 5 inside the bonus and you upgrade into Boothill Freespins: 10 rounds where reel 5 holds only cowboy symbols, every landing cowboy on that reel turns its entire portrait type into Wilds across the board, and the spin draws a multiplier from a fixed ladder of 20 values reaching x999. The three feature buys cover Hang 'em High Freespins, Boothill Freespins, and the Enhanced Bet booster, which costs +10% per spin for a pinned Hang 'em High Scatter on reel 2 and a more aggressive trigger rate, with the in-game disclosure straightforwardly admitting it makes the base game more brutal and less awarding. The follow-up to 2020's Tombstone xWays, and the harsher sibling to the later prequel.
