Rich Mahjong is the original entry in YGR's mahjong-tile series, before the Rich Mahjong 2 sequel ripped out the caps and stretched the math. The 5×5 grid runs 3,125 ways to win with a tumble engine driving the base game. Symbols pay, the winning tiles vanish, fresh tiles drop into the empty spaces, and the cascade keeps rolling until no more wins resolve.

A multiplier ladder rides alongside every cascade chain, but it climbs in an unusual pattern. Base game runs x1, then x2, x3, and tops out at x5. The x4 step gets skipped completely. Free Games use the same skip-pattern logic on a higher ladder: x2, x4, x6, x10. No x8. Once the ladder hits its ceiling it just holds there for the rest of the chain instead of resetting. Bit of a quirky design choice, honestly, but it's consistent across the engine.

Free Games unlock through scatter count tiering. Three scatters land you 6 spins. Four bumps you to 8. Five maxes the entry at 10. No retrigger inside the round – what you enter with is what you play, no more. The Wild mechanic is where things get interesting because there are zero Wilds in base play. They don't exist on the reels, they cannot land, period. Wilds only appear through a Gold tile conversion in Free Games. Every free spin guarantees one Gold-marked tile on reel 3 specifically, dead centre of the grid. If that Gold tile actually participates in a winning combination, it converts to Wild for the rest of the cascade chain and substitutes for any non-scatter symbol on subsequent tumbles. If it doesn't catch a win, it just vanishes on the next drop. Use it or lose it.

Visually it commits hard to the mahjong-parlour aesthetic. Felt-green table backdrop, red and gold trim, the chunky red calligraphy banner reading roughly Mahjong Got Rich. Symbol set is authentic mahjong tiles – Wan character suit, Tong dots, Tiao bamboos, plus honour tiles for the red Zhong dragon, green Fa dragon, and white Bai dragon. Wilds stamp a gold WILD banner across the standard mahjong tile face. No buy bonus, no ante bet, no max-win figure publicly disclosed by YGR. Bet range runs 0.20 to 50.00. The capped multipliers make this a more grounded experience than the sequel – which is exactly why some players prefer it.
