Cluster pays (3+ matching symbols on 9-cell grid)
Cluster pays on a 3×3 grid is already a strange design choice. Most cluster slots stretch out across 5×5 or 6×6 boards because the math wants room to breathe. Rainbow & Clover 7 squeezes the whole concept into nine cells and lets the paytable count matches anywhere on the board, scaling from 3-of-a-kind right up to a full-grid 9-of-a-kind. At minimum stake, that 9-of-a-kind tier on the top Blue 7 symbol pays 200, which is exactly the 1,000x bet the marketing copy promises.
The Free Games trigger is what makes this a YGR oddity worth talking about. Three Leprechaun hats anywhere on the grid will not get you in. They have to land precisely on positions 1, 5, and 9 – top-left, dead centre, bottom-right. A perfect falling diagonal across the 3×3. Any other layout, even with three or more hats showing, simply does nothing. It's a structural barrier most slots wouldn't bother imposing. The trigger rate drops noticeably compared to standard three-scatter-anywhere logic, but the payoff is supposed to feel earned.
Five free spins on entry, and that's where the hold-lock element kicks in. Blue Pots only carry their feature behaviour inside the Free Games context. When one lands during a free spin it converts to a Gold Pot, locks to that cell for the rest of the round, and tosses 1 to 3 extra spins onto the counter. Locked Gold Pots stack up across spins, and if you fill all nine positions with Gold Pots – the so-called Rainbow Gold Pot state – the round closes at 1,000x. In the base game those same Pot symbols are dumb. They pay through the cluster table like any other symbol, no conversion, no lock, no extras. The mechanic only wakes up after the diagonal trigger fires.
No wilds. No multipliers. No buy bonus, no ante bet. The whole feature load sits on that single hold-lock round. Backdrop is a deep green field scattered with tiny clovers, the reel chassis framed in gold trim, fruit and clover symbols on the low end (watermelons, lemons, grapes), Blue 7s with clover-leaf inserts up top. Bet range runs 0.20 to 50.00. Honest, minimal, and built around one structural quirk that you either love or you don't.
