Light & Wonder took their 2014 savanna favourite, handed the maths over to Big Time Gaming's Megaways engine, and pushed the whole thing live in June 2019. The result keeps the warm African golden-hour palette, the painterly bull rhino, lions and leopards, then bolts on a 6-reel variable grid (2-7 rows on the outer reels, 2-6 on the middle) with a horizontal top strip floating above reels 2 through 5. Up to 117,649 ways per spin, RTP at 96.18%, volatility cranked high. Bets run $0.20 to $20, which feels narrow for a high-vol Megaways in 2026, but that's the L&W licensing ceiling.

The base game has a quirk worth flagging right away. The rhino Wild does not appear on the main reels during normal play. It lives only on that top strip, and it can complete a way by sitting in the top row of reels 2-5. Bonus coins, conversely, drop only on the main grid, never on the top strip. And the rhino bull, sitting at the very top of the paytable, pays from just two-of-a-kind on adjacent reels, which is unusual for a top premium and gives you small base-game ticks while you hunt scatters.

Cascades work the standard way. Winning symbols explode, the main reels refill from above, the top strip refills from the right, and ways recalculate each drop. One thing to note: symbols never transfer between the main grid and the top reel, so the top strip evolves on its own. Land 4 Bonus coins on the main reels and you unlock 8 Free Spins. Three or more during the round triggers another 8.

And this is where the maths gets loud. The Free Spins multiplier starts at x1 and climbs +1 every single cascade that pays. No ceiling. No reset on retrigger. On top of that, every rhino Wild during the feature carries a stamped 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier. The stamp multiplies the way first, then the cumulative multiplier multiplies the result. Two stamped Wilds in the same way? Their stamps combine before the cumulative kicks in. There's a 10x total stake safety floor too, so a cold round still pays something back.

The headline cap is 250,000x, which actually beats the original Raging Rhino's 187,500x. There's no buy bonus, so you're grinding cascades to find scatters the old-fashioned way. But the unlimited multiplier and the stamped Wild layer mean one long Free Spins chain can genuinely rewrite your entire session.
