Pushy Cats from Yggdrasil dropped in February 2022, and honestly, it's one of the strangest hybrid concepts the studio has shipped. The whole thing looks like a Saturday morning cartoon got crammed into a music box. Pastel-pink curtains. Stars. Balls of yarn. A gilded cabinet rimmed with marquee bulbs, and two chibi kittens silhouetted in the lower corners watching you spin. The grid is a tidy 5×3 with 20 paylines, RTP sits at 96.0%, volatility runs high, and bets stretch from $0.20 up to $100. Max win? 12,709x. Not record-breaking these days, but plenty.

Base play is built around Sticky Wild Respins. Wilds only land on reels 2, 3 and 4, and the moment one shows up, everything currently sitting locks in place and you get a respin. Every fresh Wild in the chain extends the run. Three Wilds on screen at once just fires the bonus straight away. And then there's reel 5, which carries Paw symbols that pay zero on their own. Collect 10 Paws and the bonus triggers, the meter resets, and the counter is tracked separately at each bet level (so no scumming by dropping your stake). Each Paw you bank also chips 10x off the Buy Bonus price, which is a nice quiet incentive to grind.

But the bonus itself is where it gets weird. Yggdrasil basically strapped a pinball table to a slot grid. Six bumper types ring the reels: Vortex bumpers delete the Wild outright, Cash pays 1x to 50x, Multiplier adds +1x to +5x onto a counter that starts somewhere between 1x and 10x, U-Turn ricochets the Wild back without killing it, and two utility bumpers spawn extra Wilds or scatter 2-5 fresh winning bumpers around the perimeter. The catch? Once any winning bumper fires, every remaining bumper on the board flips to Vortex. Pressure tightens with each hit. The round only ends when the last Wild dies.

Movement matters too. Each Walking Wild shifts one position per spin, up, down, left or right, wherever there's open space. If nothing works, it just sits there. They can't stack on each other either, which feels limiting at first but actually keeps the chaos predictable.

You also pick from 4 randomly drawn levels, each with its own starting multiplier band. Max Level is the prize: flat 10x starting multiplier and every single bumper on the board is a winning one. There's a pre-bonus Gamble wheel, green-and-red, that bumps you up a tier on green or wipes the entire bonus on red. Brutal. Buy options run 100x for random Level 1-3 (can drop to 10x with a stockpiled Paw meter) or 990x for Max Level. Golden Bet ante adds 50% per spin and doubles trigger frequency.

Quibbles? The cartoon presentation won't land for everyone, and the Gamble wheel is genuinely punishing if you're risk-averse. Still, the bumper mechanic is one of the more original ideas in 2022's release calendar.
