Pinata Popper is Relax Gaming's August 2023 cluster slot, and it's a strange one to slot into their catalog. Most Relax cluster games sit on a 6×6 or 7×6 board. This one stretches to a full 7×7 grid, which sounds like overkill until you actually play it. Turns out 49 cells is still clean to read because the symbol set is small and the cascades resolve at a sensible pace.

Cluster rules are standard. Land 5 or more matching symbols touching anywhere on the grid and they pay out, vanish, and new ones drop from above. The pay table runs four high-pays (chili pepper at the top, then maracas, guitar, golden trumpet) and four card-suit gems in teal, red, gold, and purple frames as the lows. Nothing reinvented here.

The actual math driver is the Pinata Re-Spin. Pinatas land on the reels, lock in place, and trigger a re-spin. As long as new pinatas keep landing, the re-spins keep going. When they finally stop, one last spin plays out, and just before the reels settle every locked pinata explodes and reveals one matching symbol type across a specific pattern. Blue pinatas spread along both diagonals from their position. Green pinatas fill their full row and column. Red pinatas hit the 3×3 cells surrounding them. Stack a few reds in the right spots and the cascades start cooking.

The Bonus Game needs three SC scatters, and those only land on reels 3, 4, and 5. You get 3 spins, and the counter resets to 3 every time a fresh pinata lands. When it finally empties, all collected pinatas explode at once for a single payout spin. The variance kicker is the Orange Pinata, which only shows up in the bonus. It reveals x2 to x5 multipliers on every cell it covers, and here's the part that matters: all those multiplier values get summed, then the total is applied to the whole round. That's where the swings happen.

Specs are 96.15% RTP base, 96.50% if you take the 70x Buy Feature (single tier, no laddered options). High volatility, max win capped at 10,000x, bet range 0.20 to 100. There's also a separate Dream Drop variant with jackpots if that's your thing, but this is the base version.

One honest gripe. The bonus is brutally rare without buying it, and at 70x the buy isn't cheap either. Theme-wise though, the Mexican fiesta presentation is genuinely charming. Stone bell towers framing the reels, warm-lit miniature houses, starry purple sky overhead. Pinatas dangling and popping fits the whole mood without trying too hard.
