Remember snakes and ladders? Playtech's Origins studio took that schoolyard board, dressed it in big-top stripes, and handed the dice to a grinning clown. Ladderz plays out across a 7×7 grid where all 49 cells are numbered like a real board game, capped by a red-and-white circus canopy and strung with carnival bunting. It's loud, candy-coloured fun. And the maths underneath is busier than it looks.

Wins come from clusters. Land 5 or more matching symbols, whether that's a pink heart, a popcorn bucket, or a magician's top hat, and they pay before clearing out for fresh symbols to tumble in. Here's the twist that ties it all together. Every symbol in a winning cluster nudges the clown forward one cell, so a single spin can chain several steps. As he moves, he drops a Monkey Wild in the spot he just left. The Jack-in-the-box behaves differently, blowing up its neighbours first, then sticking around as a wild.

Then there are the ladders. Land at the foot of one and the clown climbs straight up, skipping ahead. Golden ladders do more. They collect a multiplier that hits every win on the spin, and these multipliers stack additively rather than overwriting each other. Coloured spotlights on the board can fire up to four power-ups per spin: extra golden ladders, Curtain Call to wipe the suit symbols for a clean cascade, Monkey Madness for more wilds, and Clown Chaos for more Jack-in-the-boxes.

Reach cell 49 and you hit the Grand Finale free games. Now all four power-ups fire on every spin, every ladder turns golden, and landing on 49 again banks another spin while the multiplier carries over and never resets. Prefer a shortcut? Extra Bet doubles the natural trigger odds, and Buy Feature drops you straight in.

One honest gripe. Playtech hasn't published an RTP or max win figure yet, so you're flying a little blind on payout potential. The volatility feels high, the theme is genuinely charming, and that ever-climbing multiplier is hard to look away from. Just go in knowing the headline numbers are still a mystery.
