Released in August 2017 under the Light & Wonder umbrella, Fortunes of the Dead is one of those Side City Studios releases that quietly does more than its cabinet-friendly visuals suggest. Five reels, three rows, fifty fixed paylines. Bets run from a penny up to ten dollars, so it works for grinders and mid-rollers alike, and the published RTP sits at 95.79% with medium-high volatility. Is that RTP a bit underwhelming by 2026 standards? Honestly, yeah. But the math underneath earns some forgiveness.

Here's what makes this slot odd in the best way. Three separate bonuses can fire on the same spin, which was almost unheard of for a 50-line release at the time. The Skull Bonus needs glowing skulls on reels 1, 3, and 5 simultaneously (and skulls only appear on those three reels, so the trigger is tight).
