That's NextGen's July 2016 effort, now flying under the Light & Wonder banner. It's a 5×3, 243-ways grid running at a quietly impressive 97.76% RTP, which was genuinely high-end maths for the era. Stakes cover $0.40 to $40, volatility sits in medium territory, and the ceiling lands at a fairly modest 2,000x total bet.

Where the game actually earns its keep is the On A Roll chain. Win anything on the base reels and a re-spin fires automatically. Win again? The reels seed themselves with extra Scarab Wilds. One win drops Wilds onto reel 3. Two wins spreads them across reels 2, 3 and 4. Three wins covers all five reels with stacked Scarabs. The chain caps at four re-spins, which honestly feels short the moment you're mid-run.

And here's the wrinkle. The Pharaoh Feature isn't triggered by scatters at all. You have to actually win on that fourth consecutive re-spin, with the reels already drowning in Scarabs. Land it and the free round opens with an extra 5 Scarab Wilds bolted onto the already-stacked layout. So how long does it last? Until you fail three times. Each non-winning spin burns one of three Pharaoh Tokens, and once the third token's gone, that's it. No fixed count. No retrigger. Just a brutal survival ladder against three lives.

The Scarab itself doubles as both Wild and Scatter, which is unusual. It subs for every paying icon and pays from any position using total bet rather than line bet. Top symbol is the striped Pharaoh mask at 10x for five, with Nefertiti close behind at 6.25x. The 2,000x cap really only opens up when stacked Scarab Wilds line up across all five reels inside the Pharaoh round.

Visually, it's pure mid-2010s nightclub Egypt: glowing line-art Wedjat eyes, a chrome Bastet, a vertical “On A Roll!” cartouche beside the reels, and a scroll banner whispering rules at the bottom.
