Gameplay Screenshots

Cash Reef is one of Habanero's older underwater builds, and the moment the cabinet loads you can date it. The reels sit behind a heavy gold filigree frame, tropical fish drift through the gaps on either side, and a pink coral garden sprouts from the ocean floor in the background. The wordmark is stamped in a chunky serif over a piece of wreck coral, which is exactly the kind of typography choice studios were making in 2015 and almost no one makes anymore.

The reels themselves are ordinary at first glance. 5 reels, 3 rows, 243 ways, with the bet locked at 30 coins to activate every directional read. Adjacent-reel matches starting from the left register as wins regardless of row position. The math compensates for the all-ways generosity by keeping individual symbol pays modest, which is why the cap sits at a relatively gentle 486x rather than the four-figure multipliers you see on newer Habanero titles. High volatility is the official label, and after a few sessions that reads as accurate. Dry stretches can stretch out, and most of the recovery comes from the Wild stack rather than the scatter trigger.

That Wild is a Pink Clam. It substitutes for everything except the Treasure Chest scatter and lands stacked on the middle reels, so a fully filled stack on reel 3 essentially turns the centre column into a wildcard and completes a lot of low and mid-tier ways in one drop. Three or more Treasure Chest scatters anywhere on the grid open 20 free games at a flat 2x multiplier. No buy-in, no ante bet, no retrigger from extra chests during the round. The trigger pays once, the multiplier stays fixed, and the 20 spins are what you get.

Two random progressives sit overhead. The Grand ticks in the tens of thousands of EUR and the Minor floats in the low double digits, both drawn from a network pool shared across Habanero's jackpot-enabled catalog of this era. A red or black card gamble sits on the side after any win, which is a vintage touch the studio has mostly retired since. Symbol art reads classic underwater pulp: a bearded diver as the top-pay, plus a starfish, turtle, octopus, eel and treasure urn for the mids, all rendered in the slightly flat house style of the period. Cash Reef won't impress anyone hunting modern mechanics, and the 486x ceiling is honestly underwhelming. As a clean, no-nonsense 243-ways jackpot slot from Habanero's foundational era, though, it still plays its hand fine.

This is an official Habanero partner release on Respinix.
