Most slots hand you a grid and tell you to live with it. Book of Shadows hands you the row counter. Three rows opens at 10 paylines. Click an upper row on any reel to wake it up, jump to 4 rows for 15 lines, push to 5 rows for the full 20. Each added row costs more per spin, so the row count behaves like a built-in stake booster rather than a side toggle. Pick what you can afford and try to keep it consistent if the bonus hits.

The Book symbol does double duty. It pays as a substituting Wild and counts as a Scatter at the same time, so three of them anywhere on the visible reels land Free Spins. Spin counts tier with the Shadow Rows that triggered them: six to ten from a 3-row trigger, eight to twelve from 4, ten to fourteen from 5. At the start of the bonus the engine picks one regular symbol, and that symbol expands across its entire active reel whenever it contributes to a win. Classic Book-of mechanic with one nice tweak, you get a single free reshuffle if the pick is rubbish. The obvious play is to use it on anything outside the top five payers. Three more Books during the round retrigger.

Lucky Locks is the part that feels like a Nolimit signature. You can lock up to four reels in place and respin the unlocked ones at an adjusted bet, but the engine refuses to let you lock a position with zero winning potential left on screen, which stops the option turning into a money sink. Locking two Scatters is the strongest setup. Sitting over the top of that is a after every win, plus a Wheel of Bonus that risks your winnings to spin you straight into the Free Spins round.

The buy menu is honestly a lot. Seven options stack from a basic Free Spins purchase up through bet-boosts that pre-lock 4 or 5 Shadow Rows, Free Spin buys per row tier, and Lucky Locks as the steepest entry. Visually it leans into the occult without tipping into outright slasher territory, putting it adjacent to the studio's rather than inside it. Carved stone temple wrapped in barbed wire and thorny vines, misty haunted forest behind, a young witch with a red bandana, a blue potion flask with a single eye floating in it, a horned ram skull. The lows are A K Q J 10 in dripping blood typography. That 30,338x ceiling paired with a volatility badge this high tells you what the math wants. It wants you in the buy menu more than the base game.
