Most expanding-reel slots get wider. Blazin’ Hot 7s ‘Stack Em Up’ grows upward instead, and that one design choice changes how every spin feels. You start with a single red-bordered 3×3 grid at the bottom of the screen. Three more sets (green, blue, yellow) sit greyed out above it, locked behind a feature called Stack Em Up.

Land that oval scatter on the live set and the next reel-set above flickers awake. Land another and the one above that joins in. The symbol can also drop in randomly on any base spin, which is a nice touch because there’s no buy-bonus and no ante here to force the issue. Each new active set adds 5 paylines to the total, so you can run anywhere from 5 lines up to 20 across a fully unlocked 3×12 board.

Then comes the bit that takes a minute to wrap your head around. Cascades fall downward from the upper sets into the base, not from the top of the whole grid. Winning symbols vanish, fresh ones tumble in from whichever sets are above, and every cascade nudges a flaming Free Spins Ladder up one rung. The rungs read 6, 8, 10, 20, 50. Reach a rung in one sequence and that’s your bonus. Whatever reel-set count and multiplier you’d built up rides along into the round.

The global multiplier is where the design gets fussy. It only switches on after all four sets are live, and only then do extra Stack Em Up drops start bumping it. Cap is 10x in base and bonus alike. Reach the bonus on a half-built grid and you’re playing without it. The other small sting? Free spins don’t retrigger. You get what you climbed for, no more.

RTP sits at 96.06% and the variance runs high. Bets stretch from a penny up to $10, and the recorded ceiling is 12,305x. Symbol-wise, it’s classic Vegas wallpaper: cherries, oranges, lemons, plums, watermelons, bells, BAR BAR, gold stars, and the red flaming 7 that doubles as Wild for everything except Stack Em Up itself. Released January 2021, it sits inside Light & Wonder’s wider Blazin’ Hot 7s series. Is it the most generous in the family? Probably not. But the upward-growing grid alone makes it worth a few spins.
