Fruit, sevens and a four-leaf clover. That's the whole pitch from GameArt here, and honestly there's something refreshing about a slot that doesn't bury you in mechanics. 40 Lucky Sevens runs on a 5×4 grid with 40 fixed paylines, all reading left to right across adjacent reels. The look borrows from old-school fruit machines but dresses it in green-and-gold Irish luck, with glossy apples, grapes, plums, oranges, lemons, watermelon and cherries spinning past a dark diamond-patterned backdrop.

The headline trick is the red lucky 7. It only shows up on reels two, three and four, and it acts as a Wild for everything except the scatters. When one lands, it stretches to cover the full reel. So a single 7 can flood an entire column with Wilds, and if expanded sevens hit two or three middle reels at once, your fixed lines fill out in a hurry.

Then there are the scatter pays, and this part catches people off guard. Two different symbols pay as scatters here, but neither one launches free spins. There's no bonus round at all. The gold star pays when three or more land anywhere on the screen. The green clover works on its own terms, paying only when it appears on reels one, three and five. So you're tracking two kinds of scatter at the same time – one that goes anywhere, one that's strictly positional.

After any win you can roll the dice on the card gamble. Guess the next card's colour to double, call the correct suit for four times the win, and a wrong call clears it all. It's optional, capped at the win ceiling, and easy to skip if you'd rather bank the money.

Numbers? The RTP sits at 96.12%, volatility lands in the low-to-medium band, and the top win is 2,700x your stake. My one gripe: the demo locks the bet at 0.40, which makes it hard to feel out how the swings play across different stake sizes. Still, as a clean, no-frills classic with a clever expanding-7 hook, it does exactly what it sets out to do.
