Unusual Catch

Unusual Catch from Northern Lights Gaming takes players on a tropical underwater adventure. The 5×4 reel set is set against the backdrop of a vibrant ocean scene with colorful fish and a city skyline in the distance.

The core gameplay revolves around sticky wild frames. Whenever a regular Wild symbol lands on the reels, it leaves a Sticky Frame in its place. If another wild symbol lands on the same sticky frame on subsequent spins, the multiplier on that frame increases by 1 (up to a maximum of 5x).

Unlike normal wilds, purple wilds can have additional effects when they land. They can either spawn a random number of additional wild symbols anywhere on the reels, or they can summon another purple wild symbol. This creates the opportunity to chain Wilds together for even bigger wins.

Scatters are another important element in Unusual Catch. Getting 3, 4 or 5 Scatters anywhere on the reels triggers the Free Spins feature. The number of Free Spins awarded depends on the number of triggering Scatters (10, 15 or 20 spins respectively).

During the Free Spins, a special mechanic comes into play called the Angler Wild Bonus. Landing an Angler symbol anywhere on the reels will fill all sticky frames with wild symbols. Collecting a certain number of Angler symbols during Free Spins awards retriggers with increasing multipliers (up to 10x).

Another scatter-related feature is the Nudging Respin. If 2 Scatter symbols land in the top 3 rows of the reels, a Nudging Respin is triggered. During this respin, the reels containing the Scatters nudge down one position at a time while the other reels spin again. This gives players another chance to land a third Scatter and trigger the Free Spins feature.
